The Best Chocolate Granola!

My crew LOVES granola of any kind, but chocolate is their favorite. I can't seem to buy enough to keep it in stock, so recently I decided to try making it myself!

It was super easy, delicious, and a crowd pleaser! I encourage you to give it a try with your family too!

Chocolate Granola Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3½ cups rolled oats

  • ½–¾ cup cocoa powder (use more if you love a rich chocolate flavor)

  • ½ cup pepitas

  • ½ cup chopped pecans

  • ½ cup melted coconut oil

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½–¾ cup maple syrup or honey (maple syrup is our favorite)

  • ½–¾ cup mini chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine:

    • Rolled oats

    • Cocoa powder

    • Pepitas

    • Pecans

    4. Stir in the:

    • Melted coconut oil

    • Vanilla extract

    • Maple syrup (or honey)

Mix well until everything is evenly coated.

    5. Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared sheet pan in a thin layer.

    6. Bake for 25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even baking.

    7. Remove the granola from the oven and immediately sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over the top.
Return the pan to the oven for 3–4 minutes, just until the chocolate softens.

    8. Remove from the oven and let the granola cool completely on the pan. (This helps it form those good crunchy clusters.)

    9. Once fully cooled, stir in the remaining chocolate chips.

    10. Store in an airtight container.
